GREEN TOURMALINE

Classified as a semi-precious stone, Green Tourmaline (Verdelite) is a member of borosilicates with a very complex structure. Because of this complexity, a green tourmaline exists in an almost endless number of varieties and colours depending on where it is sourced. The characteristic green colour is due to the chromium in its structure. Its colour ranges from yellowish-green, olive green to brownish-green and is comparable to emerald, one of the "Big Four" gemstones alongside diamond, ruby, and sapphire. Its name, Verdelite was derived from the Latin word 'Viridis' (green) and the Greek suffix 'lith' (stone). The stone is majorly deposited in Brazil, Namibia, Nigeria, Mozambique, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Based on history, Green Tourmaline has the ability to become electrically charged simply by heating or rubbing it. This property allows it to attract particles of dust or bits of paper, which was an attractive and useful feature used by Dutch traders of the 1700s to pull ashes from their pipes. That’s why it was being called Aschentrekker meaning "ash puller." It is believed that the green tourmaline is the stone of Angel Nemamiah, an archangel. It is also known to fortify the nervous system and collect the negative energies in the body if worn really to the area of the heart chakra.

The green tourmalines used by Glamira is supplied in AAA clarity and high quality to produce unique designs of rings, earring, necklaces and pendants and cufflinks, with the shine of nature!
